Club Penguin Journey
Released in 2006, Ice Fishing is a beloved Club Penguin mini game that arrived on Club Penguin Journey in 2023.
It can be found at the Ice Pond behind the Ski Lodge.
Introduction
Click on the fishing rod and cooler of fish to begin playing.
How To Play
The main objective of Ice Fishing is to catch 60 fish before running out of worms. Worms are lost when you run into hazards.
To catch a fish, move the line of the fishing rod up and down with your mouse. Once a fish bites on the hook, move your mouse/fish up to ice fishing hole and click to add the fish to your cooler.
As you catch more fish, a pile of fish will begin to appear next to your penguin.
Game Upgrades
To catch the optimal amount of fish (and to have the chance to catch the elusive Mullet!), you will need to buy the Flashing Lure Fishing Rod.
You can buy this rod at the Ice Pond. Click on Light Blue Paper to access the catalog.
The Flashing Lure Fishing Rod costs 200 coins.
Objects & Hazards
There are 9 objects that your rod can interact with in Ice Fishing. This includes 3 types of fish, 5 different hazards, and 1 health source. Additionally, a pink puffle will occasionally swim by, alerting you to the next hazard.
Here's a brief look at each object.
Fluffy - The most common fish, worth 4 coins.
Gray Fish - Another version of Fluffy that can only be caught with the Flashing Lure Fishing Rod, worth 8 coins. They are harder to catch because they dart while swimming.
The Mullet - The biggest fish, which only appears once 60 fish have been caught. It can only be caught with another fish on the hook. Worth 100 coins.
Can of Worms - Gives the player one extra worm.
Boot - Knocks fish off the hook.
Barrel - Knocks fish off the hook.
Jellyfish - Shocks the end of the line, causing the player to lose a worm.
Crab - Crawls along the underside of the ice and cuts the player's line, causing the player to lose a worm.
Shark - Bites the worm and fish off the end of the hook, causing the player to lose a worm.
Stamps
Stamps
Ice Fishing has 10 collectible stamps. After completing all 10 stamps, you will receive a 2x multiplier on any coins earned from the game. This turns into a x4 multiplier on Double Coin Weekends!
Feed a fish to a shark
Shock King Stamp
To earn this stamp, catch a fish and dangle it by a shark's mouth when it swims across the screen.
Note: At this time, the shark must appear on the right side of the screen in order to trigger the stamp.
Shark Attack Stamp
Get three shocks from jellyfish and end the game.
To receive this stamp, you need to get shocked by jellyfish three times and then complete the game by catching 60 fish and/or the mullet. Be sure to pick up Cans of Worms along the way to get more worms!
Fishtastic Stamp
Catch 15 fish without any mistakes.
To earn this stamp, catch 15 fish without losing a worm or getting a fish knocked off your line. The 15 fish can be all Fluffies, all gray, or a combination of both.
Afishionado Stamp
Catch 45 fish without any mistakes.
To get this stamp, catch 45 fish without losing a worm or a fish. This can include all Fluffies, all gray fish, or a combination of both.
Worm Win Stamp
Finish the game without losing a worm.
To obtain this stamp, a crab needs to cut your line 3 times. You will then need to complete the game by catching 60 fish and/or the Mullet. This must be exactly 3 times, or you will not receive the stamp.
Crab Cuts Stamp
Catch 15 gray fish.
To earn this stamp, finish the game without losing a worm.
Gray Goodies Stamp
Have 3 crabs cut your line and finish the game.
To get this stamp, you'll need to catch 15 gray fish in a game. Be sure to use the Flashing Lure Fishing Rod to do this!
Prize Mullet Stamp
Capture Mullet.
To earn this stamp, you must catch the Mullet.
After catching 60 fish, the Mullet will appear in the background. Three Fluffy fish will swim across your screen as the Mullet continues to get closer. Catch any of the fish and dangle it in front of the Mullet once he fully appears on screen. Once he latches onto the Fluffy fish, a cutscene will play, and you will receive the stamp.p.
Fly Fisher Stamp
Catch 63 fish in under 5 minutes.
To get this stamp, you will need to catch 63 fish in less than 5 minutes.
We recommend using a mouse to complete this stamp as well as some patience.
Ace Angler Stamp
Hook 15 gray fish and Mullet with no worm lost.
For this stamp, you will need to catch 15 gray fish and the Mullet without losing a worm.
Game Tips
The key of this game is patience and risk aversion. If you see a fish that is surrounded by a boot or jellyfish, don't go for it as you will most likely lose a worm trying to get it. The same can be said for when a crab or shark is nearby.
